Newberry, FL: Champions Park reverberated with excitement as the FL PGF Battle On The Diamond tournament unfolded from July 5-7, 2024. The tournament showcased elite softball talent across multiple divisions, from thrilling comebacks to dominant performances, and provided a stage for teams to shine under the summer sun.

14U Division: Fury Platinum FL 14U Claims Championship

In the 14U division, Fury Platinum FL 14U emerged as the champions after a hard-fought battle against EC Bullets X-Wells in the title game. The final showdown saw Fury Platinum FL 14U prevail with a 5-3 victory, fueled by standout performances from Ella Bianco, Yanaira Andrade, and Hailey Goode. Bianco showcased her batting prowess, going 2-3, while Andrade contributed both in the circle, recording 5 strikeouts over 5 innings, and at the plate with a 2-2 performance. Goode’s clutch hitting included a pivotal double that drove in 3 crucial runs, sealing the victory for Fury Platinum FL 14U.

Earlier in the tournament, EC Bullets X – Wells had taken the first meeting between the teams 7-6, setting the stage for a dramatic rematch in the championship game. Despite the initial setback, Fury Platinum FL 14U regrouped and delivered a championship-winning performance when it mattered most.

The HS division featured an array of impressive performances, with four teams clinching titles across separate championship matchups:

• Championship One: Team North Florida secured a thrilling 3-2 victory over Clearwater Bullets 2025/2026 18U. Layla Salman’s 2-2 hitting performance, combined with Makenna Boyd’s stellar pitching that allowed just two hits, propelled Team North Florida to victory.
• Championship Two: Central Florida Gold – Peterson 16U dominated with a commanding 13-3 win over Florida Impact Gold Ladd. Veronica Peterson’s perfect 4-4 at the plate, including a triple and 2 RBI, alongside Josie Raulerson’s 3-4 with 4 RBI, highlighted their offensive firepower. Emily Thompson’s strong pitching performance secured the win for Central Florida Gold – Peterson 16U.
• Championship Three: Santa Fe Inferno Nowling 18U showcased their skills with a decisive 9-1 victory over FL Impact – Swiderski/Hancock. Grace Jones led the charge with a 2-3 batting performance, driving in 4 runs with a triple, while Navaeh Hayes contributed 2 RBI on a perfect 2-2 hitting day. • Championship Four: Windermere Wildfire 18U – Paulson capped off the division’s action with a dominant 10-0 win against Wagners 18U – Janata. Abby Hynes and Jenna Klein led the offensive charge, with Hynes going 3-4 with 3 RBI, including a double and a triple, and Klein contributing 2 RBI on a 2-3 hitting day.
