The USF Bulls are coming off a season where they won 45 games, placed second in the American Conference, and made a trip to the NCAA Regional. They did that with the help of DI Pitcher of the Year Georgina Corrick, who also earned the pitcher triple crown last year, leading the nation in ERA (0.51), Wins (37), and Strikeouts (418).
It is a new season, and coach Ken Eriksen added Legigh transfer Gabriella Nori to the rotation. They will also look to senior Antoinette Hill, who was 2-2 in 2022. They also added freshman Jaden Martinez from Tallahassee and Chiles High School. It will be interesting to see if the new arms can combine to propel the Bulls back into the hunt in 2023.
One major plus the Bulls have going for them is that they return 20 players from last season, including team home run (8) and RBI (29) leader junior Josie Foreman. They will need to generate more offensive consistency in 2023. They will have some speed on the bases with Megan Pierro, who led the team in stolen bases (19).
Their season will kick off on February 9, 2023, at home against Michigan. That first weekend should provide more insight into who will anchor the pitching staff and who will emerge as leaders at the plate.
