Moultrie, Munro & Stewart Set to Return With Team USA for Exhibition Against Gators

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida softball and head coach Tim Walton along with USA Softball has announced that the Gators and the 2020 USA Softball Women’s National Team (WNT) will compete in an exhibition contest Tuesday, February 11, 2020, at 6 p.m. ET at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium as a part of Team USA’s “Stand Beside Her” tour.

Fans will have the chance to see a trio of familiar faces as Gator Greats Michelle Moultrie (2009-’12), Kelsey Stewart (2013-’16) and Aubree Munro (2013-’16) will once again take the field in front of Gators fans at the newly renovated KSP Stadium. The three standouts secured spots on the Red, White and Blue’s Olympic roster during October’s selection trials and will compete at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics this upcoming summer.

They will also be the first softball players in program history to represent the Gators at the Olympics.

“I’m excited to welcome Team USA and former Gator Greats Michelle Moultrie, Aubree Munro, and Kelsey Stewart to Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium,” Walton said. “Michelle, Aubree, and Kelsey have given so much to our program throughout the years as players and have worked so hard for this opportunity to represent Team USA at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020. I can’t think of a better way to send them off than to give them the chance to play in front of Gator Nation here on this field at KSP Stadium one more time. Also, we’re honored to have the opportunity to compete against Team USA and help them prepare for their quest for another Olympic gold medal.”

With numerous program records and accolades, Moultrie, Munro, and Stewart solidified themselves as some of the best at their positions in program history. Throughout their careers as Gators, the group helped the program achieve 445 wins and a .854 winning percentage, along with two national championships (2014 & 2015), four Southeastern Conference regular-season titles (2009, 2013, 2015 & 2016) and six Women’s College World Series appearances.

2020 Gators Softball Season Ticket Holders can purchase tickets today through Jan. 14, at 5 p.m. and secure their current season seats by visiting their Online Account Manager. This will be the second exhibition in program history against a national team and the first versus Team USA. The Gators hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony and opened the gates to the newly renovated Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium Feb. 12, 2019 with an exhibition against Team Japan.
