The JU softball team will look to build off their 15-31 record in 2022. They return most of their team from 2022 and only add a few for 2023. Back in 2021, they went 29-20. Currently, they sit 10th in the ASUN Preseason Coaches Poll.
The Dolphins return their top two hitters from 2022, Sophomore Allison Bratek (.307) and graduate student Victoria Rodebaugh (.305). As a team, they will need to generate more runs. Since they are not a power-hitting team, based on last season, they do have some speed and a nice group of contact hitters. Madison Bratek (11) and Madison Reynolds (10) led the team in 2022 in stolen bases.
In the circle, they will have a different look. Shelby Harpe is the returner with the most starts (18) last season. Several new faces will be in the mix, including Clemson transfer and graduate student Emma Whitfield and freshman Christa Pritchard. Last year the staff had struggles, but with some added depth and a new season, they will look to turn things around.
