Although the state is starting to open up to softball, mother nature may not have agreed. Numerous events were either canceled or partially canceled due to rain and storms this past week. From what we can tell, PGF was able to get some pool games in at two different events.
The one event that completed was the USSSA CF PRO-ACTIVE event in Viera, FL.
At the 10U division, the Central Florida Stars 10U Gold team captured the top spot taking out a tough Florida Impact 09 Team by a score of 5-2. The Stars outscored opponents in bracket play 21-4. Impressive considering teams are coming off a long lay off. On the weekend they were a perfect 5-0.
In the 12U division, the Central Florida Wolves grabbed the top spot. The Wolves topped the South Florida Seahawks 3-1 in the championship game. The Seahawks battled through bracket scoring a few upsets along the way. The wolves were undefeated, posting a 5-0 record.
Another Central Florida Stars team, the 14U this time, took home top honors in the 14U division. They got the best of the Diamond Girlz-Mahaney cruising to an 8-2 win in the championship game.
The 18U division saw the Batbusters-Roberts team dominate bracket play on their way to the top spot. The Batbusters outscored the opposition in bracket play 30-1.
Next week is Father’s Day, and as of now, six tournaments are still on schedule. Good luck to everyone this next week.
