They conquered both the Saturday Single Elimination Bracket and the Sunday Double Elimination Bracket, finishing with an impressive 10-1 record. These young athletes showed resilience and skill, particularly on Sunday when they had to fight their way through the loser’s bracket to claim the title.
Saturday’s Single Elimination Bracket
Saturday saw the Mustangs in peak form. In the Single Elimination Championship, they faced off against the Florida Storm Rue. The Mustangs’ bats were on fire, racking up 8 hits and allowing just one in a decisive 6-2 victory. It was a display of dominance, as they showcased their offensive prowess and stifling defense. The Florida Storm Rue had no answers as the Mustangs stormed their way to victory.
Sunday’s Double Elimination Bracket
Sunday’s Double Elimination Bracket brought even more excitement. The Mustangs had to dig deep, battling back through the loser’s bracket to set up a showdown with the Santa Fe Inferno Hooper in the championship game. And what a game it was! The Mustangs edged out a hard-fought 3-1 win in a defensive battle. They held the Inferno to just three hits while managing five of their own. 14U Division: Clearwater Bullets Schultheis and Bombers Gold FL Shine
In the 14U Division, the Clearwater Bullets 14U Schultheis and Bombers Gold FL 14U brought their A-game, each claiming a championship on different days in spectacular fashion.
Saturday’s Single Elimination Bracket
The Bombers Gold FL 14U emerged victorious in Saturday’s Single Elimination Bracket, outlasting the Clearwater Bullets 14U Schultheis in a high-scoring affair. The two teams combined for an impressive 13 runs in the championship showdown. For the Bullets, Lexi Medina went 2-3 with 2 RBI, and Kyra Williams contributed with two RBIs in her 1-3 performance. However, it was the Bombers who prevailed, with Lyric Rodriguez driving in three runs and securing the win in the circle. Skylar Flack and Kiah Haston each added two hits in the Bombers’ triumph.
