Trenton’s Addison Allaire Named 2026 Gatorade Florida Softball Player of the Year

Florida softball has its 2026 Gatorade Player of the Year, and the honor is staying in small-town powerhouse territory.

Trenton High School junior Addison Allaire has been named the 2025-26 Gatorade Florida Softball Player of the Year, adding another major recognition to one of the strongest individual seasons in the state.

Allaire, a 5-foot-10 right-handed pitcher, helped lead Trenton to a 25-3 record and a second straight Rural Class state championship. That alone would put her in the conversation. The numbers make the conversation pretty short.

In the circle, Allaire went 18-3 with a 0.81 ERA, striking out 295 batters while allowing just 46 hits across 138.2 innings. That is not just winning games. That is controlling them.

She was not exactly taking the day off when she stepped into the batter’s box either. Allaire hit .449 with seven home runs, 28 RBI and a .899 slugging percentage, giving Trenton the kind of two-way impact every team wants and very few actually have.

The award recognizes more than box-score dominance. Gatorade’s Player of the Year program honors athletic excellence, academic achievement and character, and Allaire checked those boxes as well. She carries a weighted 4.73 GPA and has made a verbal commitment to play softball at the University of Florida beginning in the fall of 2027.

Allaire has also been involved in student government, volunteered as a private pitching coach and contributed time through Future Farmers of America community service efforts.

For Florida softball, this is another reminder that elite talent is not limited to the largest schools or the biggest classifications. Trenton has built one of the state’s strongest programs, and Allaire has been right at the center of it.

She entered the season with a strong reputation. She leaves it with a state championship, elite production on both sides of the ball and one of the top individual honors in high school sports.

Not a bad year at the office.
