Across the state, more tournaments are starting to happen. Although we are unaware of anything specific, we want to say that we all must follow the return to play rules each event lays out. Some rules may seem odd, but cities, counties, and tournament directors are doing their best. Let’s thank them for the opportunity to get back at it and not criticize them for the necessary rules.

USSSA Central Florida State Warm-up

Talented teams battled in the 10U division with Team Tampa 09 coming out on top with a 5-4 win over the Dynamite. In the semifinal, the Dynamite and Impact 09 went at it. The two scored 21 runs between the two of them with the Dynamite winning 11-10. Team Tampa did not give up a run in the bracket until the championship.

Wagner’s 07 had to fight their way to the title. They had some tight scores along the way, including a hard-fought 2-1 win in the championship over the 07 Pride.

In the 14U Division, the Diamond Girlz posted 38 runs in three bracket games on their way to the top spot. They took down the Martin County Cruisers 16-4 in the championship game.

Hatters Gold Masso captured the crown in the 18U division beating Orange FC Miguel in the championship 5-2.

Florida PGF Summer State Championship

Some of the top teams were on hand for the PGF Summer State Championship. Coming out on top at the 12U level was the SFL Diamond Dusters 12u – de Leon. The Diamond Dusters were a perfect 6-0, including pool and bracket play. In the championship, they got the best of the Gold Coast Hurricanes – Viruet winning 6-4.

At 14U, the Florida Impact Gold Ladd 06 squad swung their way to the title. The Impact posted 30 runs in their four bracket games winning the championship 7-4 over Bombers Odessa. The Impact scored a total of 58 over their 7-0 run to the title.

Moving on to 16U, the Tampa Mustangs Eve squad took the top spot with a 4-0 shutout win in the championship over the Miami Stingrays Gold. The Mustangs posted seven wins on the weekend after also winning all three games in pool play.

Finally, at the 18U division, the Tampa Mustangs TJ posted three straight shutout wins to capture the top spot. The Mustangs posted a 2-0 win in the title game over North FL Elite. They only just allowed three runs in bracket play and outscored opponents in the tournament 37-5.

FPO The Bats are Hot

Starting with 10U, the Santa Fe Inferno 10U McDaniel squad took top honors with a 6-3 win over the Firecrackers FL Cronin 10U.

At 14U, we had two separate divisions with the Citrus Smoke winning the Orange bracket with a 7-4 win over the Dirt Dogs Elite. In the red bracket, the Diamond Divas 14u got the best of the Diamond Divas 14u in the championship 4-2.

NSA Summer Slugfest

The Riptide came out on top against the Firecrackers 3-1 in a competitive 10U title game.

Hot bats propelled the Clearwater Bullets to the title with a 13-1 win the 12U championship over Palm Pride.

Finally, at 14U, the GCH /SWAT took care of business, defeating the GC WAVES 4-0 to win top honors.
