Well, well, well, ladies and gentlemen, buckle up and hold on tight because the GoldStar Elite Fall Showcase 2023 was an absolute whirlwind of softball action! From November 3rd to 5th, Longwood, FL, was the battleground for fierce competition in the 16U and 18U divisions. And let me tell you, this tournament had it all: drama, upsets, and some outstanding performances. So, let’s dive into the chaos and break it down like a broken bat.

In the 16U division, things got heated as the teams duked it out for supremacy. In the top bracket, it was Legacy Fastpitch who emerged victorious, defeating the Clearwater Bullets Vigue in a nail-biting 3-2 showdown. Legacy Fastpitch was resilient, bouncing back from an early loss to the Clearwater Bullets Williams. Yianno Casiano, Emily Delgado, and Brooke Hunt were on fire, combining for a stat line that even the pros would envy. On the other side, Taylor Hardy put up a valiant effort for the Clearwater Bullets Vigue, but it just wasn’t enough. Hey, at least they finished the weekend with a solid 4-1 record. Not too shabby!

Meanwhile, in the second bracket, TC Marauders 16U Ortiz dominated the competition, topping the Clearwater Bullets Kimmet 8-0 in the final game. Makayla Ortiz, Kalyn Woods, and Madelyn Hale were swinging the bats like they were on a mission, racking up hits, RBI, and doubles like it was nobody’s business. And let’s not forget Daisy Dickerson, who pitched a gem, shutting down the opposition and allowing no runs on just three hits. The Marauders finished the weekend with a respectable 3-2 record. Impressive stuff!

Now, let’s shift our focus to the 18U division, where the competition was fierce and the stakes were high. With five brackets based on pool finish, it was a battle royale to determine the top dogs.

In the 5 Seed Bracket, Central Florida Gold 18U- Ralstin edged out Intensity National KOD/Bodell in a tight 5-4 contest. Jasmine Lawrence came up clutch for Central Florida Gold, going 2-3 with a run. Meanwhile, Bella Mancillas put up a fight for Intensity, going 2-3 with a double and 2 RBI. It was a close one, but Central Florida Gold came out on top.

Moving on to the 4 Seed Bracket, Florida Power Black-Kaser flexed their muscles and claimed the top spot by defeating Boca Impact 18U Callahan 5-1. The Florida Power Black squad showcased a balanced offensive attack, with five different players collecting hits to contribute to the win. Mia Macaione held it down on the mound for them. As for Boca Impact, Kaylee Wilt went 2-2 with an RBI, but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to secure the victory.

The 3 Seed Bracket saw GC Hurricanes Hammonds 18U National take down Fl Impact Swiderski-Hancock in a hard-fought 4-2 battle. The Hurricanes had a solid 4-1 record throughout the weekend, and Paige Sanchez was the star of the show, going 2-2 with a whopping 3 RBI, including a two-run homer. The Impact ended the weekend with a 2-2 record, falling just short in this matchup.

Now, in the 2 Seed Bracket, Florida Storm National- Masso came out on top with a thrilling 4-3 win over Florida Future Black. Florida Storm National remained undefeated throughout the tournament, finishing with a perfect 5-0 record. Mackenzie Cisco delivered a clutch performance, going 1-2 with two RBI. Undefeated? Now that’s what I call dominance. And let’s not forget Shaylyn Byrd from Florida Future Black, who went 1-3 with 3 RBI. Not too shabby despite the loss.

Last but certainly not least, the 1 Seed Bracket showcased a commanding performance by Clearwater Bombers Mason, who took down Power House 5-0 in the final game. Kara Zweig and Kacey Wilkes led the charge for the Bombers, both going 2-3 with some serious production at the plate. Meanwhile, Desiree Aitken was in the zone on the mound, allowing just 2 hits and striking out 2 batters over 5 innings. Talk about shutting it down!

And there you have it, folks! The GoldStar Elite Fall Showcase 2023 was an epic display of talent, determination, and pure softball magic. These athletes left it all on the field, showcasing their skills and making memories that will last a lifetime.
