The Oklahoma City Spark was announced as the 3rd and newest franchise in the Women’s Professional Fastpitch (WPF) league on Tuesday.
Currently, the WPF boasts two teams that have played a barnstorming-style schedule this summer. The Spark will join those teams when they take the field for the first time in June 2023.
Headquartered in Oklahoma City, the Spark is owned by Sooner State natives Tina and Robert Floyd. The Floyds have owned and operated multiple businesses across the state of Oklahoma.“
Oklahoma City is a wonderful community-driven environment that will foster these young ladies in all their endeavors,” Tina Floyd said in a statement. “As the softball capital of the world, I cannot dream of a better fit for a professional softball team than Oklahoma City.”
